The University for the Creative Arts is a specialist public institution of art and design in the south of England. It came into existence in 2005 as the University College for the Creative Arts at Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham, Maidstone, and Rochester after the Kent Institute of Art and Design and the Surrey Institute of Art and Design merged. Both constituent schools began by joining the regional art schools in Kent and Surrey, respectively. After receiving university status in 2008, the name was changed to the current one. It joins forces in 2016 with the Open College of the Arts.

University Campuses:
Together with training facilities at the Royal School of Needlework, The Maidstone Studios, and a project and exhibition space in the Folkestone Creative Quarter, UCA has campuses in Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham, Rochester, and Surrey. It once had a campus in Maidstone, but that location was shut down in 2014.
